DIRECT PATIENT CARE PHYSICIANS: STATEWIDE

Texas patient care physicians per 100,000 population stagnated and then declined during the liability crisis period. Post-crisis, the state saw a physician per population gain six out of the past seven years. In 2013, the most current year for which data is available, the Lone Star State achieved an all-time high in patient care physicians per population.
